Garden Rooms, Garden Offices & Surooms
If you are looking for a free standing independent space but don’t want a conservatory then perhaps you may find that a sun-room or garden room could fit the bill. With designs that range from the simplest pergola to fully independent “living pods” the market has an excellent diversity.
The modern use of garden rooms as garden offices or studios has led to some highly versatile, double glazed, insulated, heated & secure designs being created – proper living spaces, that in some case can be installed in just a couple of days.
Features & Options
- Free Standing Recreational or Business Use
- Can Be Installed Quickly
- Insulated, Secure & Stylish
- Use For Leisure, Study, Music, Office Work
- Huge Range of Sizes & Styles
- Fully Connected to Power, Heat, Water & Telecoms if Required
You can opt for a company that completes all the works or you can split the job into separate stages and use different contractors for each stage, for example the base, the building and connection to services such as power & water.
Always check with the area planning department, some caution needs to be exercised before construction as, unlike conservatories, these are freestanding structures and different planning rules & regulations could apply, but if the room is less than 2500mm high and less than 30 square metres in area you may not have to get planning permission. However, if you are fitting electrical or plumbing works you should use a certified contractor to do the work.
